In your own words describe what you do at Harvest.
First and foremost, worship God! Additionally, my wife Julie and I have the pleasure of leading a small group, and occasionally I assist with lights and security during Sunday services.
Why did you want to be an Elder at Harvest?
I consider it an incredible honor as well as a tremendous responsibility to be appointed Elder. The bible is replete with examples of God working through the most unlikely of people, so if I have skills and abilities that can serve God and the church as an Elder I gladly accept the role.
What experience, education, and/or work background do you bring with you to Harvest?
I have degrees in engineering and business, and for most of my professional career I have worked in the Healthcare Division of the General Electric Company. During that time I have had the opportunity to learn from some people who were not just great business leaders but people of character and integrity in all aspects of their lives. As a husband and parent I have lived through some very exhilarating times and some very trying circumstances, all of which has given me a greater appreciation for who God is and has reinforced my need to completely rely on Him in all things.
What are you most passionate about when it comes to ministry?
1 Peter 3:15 says "but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who ask you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect." I know how God has changed my life and given it meaning and purpose and I want everyone to be able to experience the joy that I have in Christ Jesus.
What's one thing someone would be surprised to know about you?
When I was young I studied to become a priest in the Catholic church. That obviously didn't happen.
If you had to describe yourself in 5 words, what would they be?
Still a work in process.
