Harvest Sacramento launched in October 2013 at Granite Bay High School. Pastor Scott Hollingshead is from Granite Bay and after a long process of calling and training, which included living in places like Los Angeles, Mexico City, Chicago, and Phoenix, God made it clear that Sacramento is the place he would plant a church. Ever since then, Scott has pursued this calling and trusted the Lord on his promise from Matthew 16:18, "I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
During our first years as a church, God has indeed been building his church and raising up leaders of various ministries to serve at Harvest. Our staff continues to grow, we have elders who are faithfully following God's call to lead the church in doctrine, discipline, and direction, and we are more fired up than ever to see lost people saved, saved people matured, and mature disciples multiplied to the glory of God.
Harvest Bible Chapel Sacramento is part of a movement that is reaching across the globe called Harvest Bible Fellowship. HBF has almost 140 churches in 16 countries on 4 continents. The major goal of HBF is to plant churches that will go on to plant churches. By God's grace, HBC Sacramento has already planted a church called Harvest Bamenda in Cameroon. In 2016, we are partnering with HBF in what is being called Vision Caribbean, to see God-glorifying churches be planted in the islands of the Caribbean. We continue to trust God to build his church!
At Harvest Sacramento, we truly believe we are only seeing the beginning of a very fruitful work God has called us to!
