Mike Spiro - Director of Assimilation

MIKESTAFFFINALIn your own words describe what you do here at Harvest.

I help people get connected to the church body at Harvest, and through that hope to help them become more fully-committed disciples of Christ. Best job ever!

Why did you want to be on staff at Harvest?

I love the Harvest Bible Chapel DNA. I love the authentic Bible teaching, the unashamed worship, and I LOVE small groups at Harvest. I love that small groups are never closed to anyone, and that everyone who loves Jesus can find a place at Harvest. The fact that I can also help people become Christ-followers full time is such a joy to me, I feel blessed each day to be a part of growing disciples at Harvest. Best job ever!

What experience, education, and/or work background do you bring with you to Harvest?

I LOVE people. I have spent the better part of thirty years working with all kinds of people in customer service, teaching job skills training and in various management positions, but the most important thing I learned through all of that was how to properly care for and sincerely communicate with people. Best job ever!

What are you most passionate about when it comes to ministry?

Seeing lives transformed through Christ. I believe that when a Christian finds their life being changed through authentic discipleship, and when others see the dramatic changes in them brought about by following Christ, the results are obvious and Jesus gets the glory.

What could we find you doing on your days off?

I like working with my beautiful wife Laura in our garden, taking long walks with my dog Tango, and riding my motorcycle somewhere with great scenery, but mostly I enjoy visiting with family and friends.

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you want to go and why?

Taka’s Sushi in Fair Oaks, CA because the sushi is great and not too expensive. And I’m hungry.

What's your favorite sport, or sports team?

Rugby, the World Champion New Zealand All Blacks.
