Mark Retzlaff - Elder

In your own words describe what you do at Harvest.

Serve God and His people by making coffee with my wife for Sunday services, praying on the prayer team during second service, leading a small group, serving as an elder and as a floater greeter and general volunteer on call.

Why did you want to be an Elder at Harvest?

I felt the call of God to serve His local body with my gifts, training, experience and enthusiasm.

What experience, education, and/or work background do you bring with you to Harvest?

In the last 20 plus years after becoming born again I have been, or still am, a church planter, pastor, elder, deacon, mission’s director, self-employed business man and foremost a doulos, a life-long servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. I have a theology degree, I am currently pursuing a degree in Biblical Counseling and I am an ongoing student of God’s Word.

What are you most passionate about when it comes to ministry?

The lost getting saved and the saved getting better. I am passionate about proclaiming salvation to the lost while discipling the saved to be productive members of the family of God. I believe that God’s Word is the key component in each.

What's one thing someone would be surprised to know about you?

I recently went back to college for two years and studied computers and IT for my own curiosity and use.

If you had to describe yourself in 5 words, what would they be?

Sold out for Jesus Christ.
