At Harvest Bible Chapel we realize parenting can be one of the most rewarding and adventurous time in life as well as one of the most overwhelming times.
With all the changes and busyness going on in your home, we invite you to take some time to focus on what matters most. We believe that as parents, you will have the greatest impact on your child and what happens at home is so important. It is our desire to partner with you as we encourage and equip you to be godly parents through this journey as you seek to raise your child to one day know, love and serve Jesus Christ.
In order to participate in Baby Dedication, we ask that you are either a member of Harvest Bible Chapel Sacramento or are in the process of becoming one and that you complete the following steps:
-Parenting Talks and Homework.
There is limited space at each Baby Dedication. Register here for the next Parent Orientation on Sunday March 18th. The next Baby Dedication will be on May 13th, 2018. For more information about baby dedication, read the frequently asked questions below or contact Denise James at email@example.com.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Parent-Child Dedication and infant baptism?
At Harvest Bible Chapel, We believe that a child must be old enough to understand what it means to put their faith in Jesus Christ before they can be baptized. This event is an opportunity for you as parents to publically declare that you want to raise your child to develop their own relationship with Jesus Christ.
How does the ceremony work? How does the Dedication work?
This will be explained at the parent orientation. You will receive more information about this upon registration.
I cannot attend the parent orientation what should I do? Do both parents need to attend the orientation? The parent orientation is very brief (approximately 15-20 minutes) but very important. At least one parent is required to attend.
What is the photo used for? Does it have to be professional? How do I send it in?
We will use the photo on the video screen during the dedication. The picture does not have to be professional, but needs to be a high-resolution digital photo. We would like 2 pictures, 1 that is sweet and 1 that is real life. The photos can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. We must receive your photo three weeks prior to the event.
How long does the dedication last?
The ceremony itself is rather short, 10-15 minutes.
What is the age limit on Parent-Child Dedication?
Typically birth - 2 years of age.
What should we wear?
As with most events at Harvest, there is no set dress code. Some of our families, however, do tend to dress up a bit more than they would for Sunday service. Please feel free to wear whatever you wish.
